VT6S (Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5) — Ukrainian Bar at 0% EU Duty for Engineering, 3D Printing & Non-Flight Aerospace
TI-6AL-4V · GRADE 5
Ti-6Al-4V is the most widely used titanium alloy on the planet: roughly 50% of all global titanium demand goes to this single grade. In the GOST/OST system it is designated VT6S. By chemistry it is an exact match to ASTM B348 Grade 5 (UNS R56400).
OSKTREID holds VT6S bar in stock. Chemical analysis dated 15 January 2025 (Protocol No. 42, GOST 19807): Ti 88.95%, Al 6.14%, V 4.35%, Fe 0.23%, O 0.12% — within ASTM B348 Grade 5 limits.
Why Grade 5 is a game-changer
Grade 5 combines what no other engineering material offers at once:
- Specific strength higher than mild steel (UTS ≥895 MPa, density 4.43 g/cm³)
- Corrosion resistance on par with platinum in most industrial environments
- Biocompatibility (for implantology a separate grade category, F136, applies — see the disclaimer below)
- TIG/EBW weldability without loss of properties
This makes Grade 5 the baseline material in: aerospace, medical technology, high-strength fasteners, premium sports equipment, 3D printing (Grade 5 powder is the most popular in DMLS), chemical fittings, and marine equipment.
What OSKTREID offers
VT6S bar in stock in diameters from ∅12 mm to ∅170 mm (exact remaining stock on request). Total Ti bar inventory on hand — ~62 tonnes. Shipment volumes: from a 500 kg MOQ to a full truckload (24 t) in a single run.
Every batch ships with a current Mill Test Report (MTR). Protocol No. 42 confirms chemistry to GOST 19807, which corresponds to the ASTM B348 ranges for Grade 5.

For comparison: Chinese Grade 5 — 6.5% MFN duty in the EU + recurring anti-dumping procedures + 4–8 weeks of sea freight. Indian — the same duty range, longer lead times. Russian VSMPO is technically still available, but Tier-1 buyers in the EU/US are actively de-risking it (EU 20th sanctions package, 23.04.2026).
Who it's for
Industrial machining (CNC shops). Grade 5 bar ∅20–100 mm — a standard blank for milling housings, hubs, shafts and fittings for high-pressure chemical and gas service. No special certifications required.
3D-printing powder makers. Atomisers (Sandvik Osprey, AP&C, Tekna Plasma) buy Grade 5 mill product as feedstock for plasma/EIGA atomisation. VT6S chemistry qualifies — no remelt needed.
Premium sports equipment. Bicycle frames (Lynskey, Moots, No.22, Sturdy), diving components, watch cases, golf-club heads, premium tennis rackets. Supplied as a blank for the client's own machining.
Non-flight aerospace. Aircraft interiors, ground support equipment, test tooling, simulators. Without NADCAP/AS9100 we do not cover flight-critical positions, but for non-flight and prototypes we are a full match on chemistry and mechanics.
High-pressure chemical fittings. Valve bodies, seats, plungers in chloride, oxide and acid environments. Grade 5 outlasts stainless steels here by at least an order of magnitude.
Marine equipment. Fasteners, pump housings, propeller shafts for premium boats and yachts. Reference-grade seawater resistance.
What we do NOT sell
Medical implants. Permanent implants require ASTM F136 (specifically for biomedical — tighter Fe and O limits, full traceability). We hold GOST 19807 with Grade 5 chemistry, but that is not F136. We can supply VT6S for medical prototyping and temporary instruments, but not for life-cycle implants.
Aerospace flight-critical. Without NADCAP / AS9100 we do not cover Boeing/Airbus tier-1 positions. If you need a certified aero chain, that is a different process (years of qualification). We do non-flight and ancillary.
Batches below 500 kg. Technically possible, economically not. MOQ 500 kg.
